Big thanks to mdlcomics for creating a custom double-sided tote bag for us in honor of Juneteenth 2021. If you hold it by the handles and let it spin, the character will appear to be animated, like a thaumatrope.
Medar has chosen for a portion of proceeds to be donated to The Audre Lorde Project.
Size: 15 x 16
Canvas: 7 oz
Made with 100% organic cotton.
“I’m a skateboarder, and 2021 is a very significant year for skaters everywhere. This summer will be the first year that competitive skateboarding will be included in the Olympics and put on an international display. This phenomenon comes with mixed reactions in the skate community because the core of skating lives in freedom, individualism, and expression; not in competition. It’s important to represent skaters and skate culture how we want to be seen. I hope people who walk into the Standard shop will recognize this skating character on the tote bag in themselves or someone they know. Perhaps they’ll feel inspired to explore whatever city they’re visiting on a board!” - Medar
